Music on the Green

Music on the Green

Our annual summer concert series is back for a full season starting June 3! Every Friday and Saturday evening during the summer enjoy free live music downtown in Mariposa’s outdoor Art Park. Concerts begin at 7pm and feature folk, bluegrass, rock, jazz, reggae, country, and world music bands hailing from all over California, bringing together both local and visiting concert-goers of all ages.

As a component of Mariposa County’s celebration of National Trails Day on June 4, the Arts Council invites the community to write original poetry and create cover art that explores their feelings and experiences with America’s trails and wild spaces.

Regional Artist Database

Take the survey to be included today! The Mariposa Arts Council is developing a database of regional artist to support artists, arts education and creative placemaking efforts. This database will help teachers and students connect with regional artists and exist as a tool for Mariposa County’s future projects.

As a part of our commitment to creative youth development, we’re supporting two student-led murals on school campuses this fall/winter. These pilot projects are just the beginning, with more youth-led creative placemaking planned for the future!

We are excited to announce that on August 17, 2021, the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors adopted the Mariposa County Creative Placemaking Strategy: A framework for art and design to promote both a more resilient rural economy, and a more inclusive, representative, and diverse set of stories about our community.
