The Mariposa Creek Parkway restoration project is a priority project for Mariposa County, drawing together critical community partners including the Southern Sierra Miwuk Nation, Sierra Foothill Conservancy, the Mariposa County Planning Department and the Arts Council.

The Mariposa County Arts Council is pleased to announce 5 local artists and grassroots organizations have been awarded project grants from our new Art + Community grant program.

This month, twelve local students competed in the Poetry Out Loud Mariposa County Finals.
The County Champion title was awarded to Daniele Mattocks Turck, whose vibrant and nuanced performances of ‘What to say upon being asked to be friends’ by Julian Talamantez Brolaski, ‘And Soul’ By Eavan Boland and ‘A Poison Tree’ by William Blake scored very highly with the judges.
