
The Mariposa Arts Council is pleased to announce new employment opportunities for passionate, community-minded individuals.
We are currently seeking qualified applicants for a Program Manager/Lead Teaching Artist and an Administrative Assistant. These roles offer the opportunity to support arts programming, community engagement, and cultural initiatives that enrich the lives of residents and visitors throughout Mariposa County.
Additionally, we are seeking a graphic designer or design firm to create a cohesive visual identity and design suite for From Here to There, a regional touring exhibition.
Program Manager/Lead Teaching Artist
The Program Manager + Lead Teaching Artist is a key member of the Mariposa County Arts Council’s program leadership team, responsible for managing multiple education and community initiatives, delivering high-quality arts instruction, and contributing to curriculum and program development across the organization. This position assumes significant responsibilities within the Arts Council’s school-based, community-based, and artist-focused programming.
The Program Manager + Lead Teaching Artist plays a central role in curriculum design, instructional quality, and program coordination—particularly within the Arts Council’s partnership with the Mariposa County Unified School District (MCUSD), Poetry Out Loud, the Arts + Community Grant Program, and the pilot Mariposa Creek Parkway Artist-in-Residency (AiR) Program. The role includes hands-on teaching, professional development support for other educators, and leadership in ensuring that programs are culturally responsive, inclusive, and aligned with organizational goals.
This is a 32-hour-per-week, non-exempt position, except during the spring and summer Day Camp program, when weekly hours increase to 40 hours. The role is on-site, with potential for limited off-site work depending on program needs.

Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant provides essential organizational support to the Director of Operations and the staff team, ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations at the Mariposa County Arts Council. This role assists with administrative tasks, basic human resources processes, accounting support, and community relations, including timely communications with members, donors, and sponsors.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working behind the scenes and is committed to accuracy, organization, strong communication, and excellent customer service.
This is a part-time, non-exempt role working 20 hours per week, primarily on-site in Mariposa with occasional off-site tasks depending on program needs.

Graphic Design Services – From Here to There Exhibition
The Sierra Seven Arts Alliance seeks a graphic designer or design firm to create a cohesive visual identity and design suite for From Here to There, the Alliance’s inaugural regional touring exhibition.
This collaborative exhibition connects seven counties across California’s Central and Eastern Sierra—Amador, Alpine, Calaveras, Inyo, Mariposa, Mono, and Tuolumne—and celebrates the creative voices, stories, and landscapes that define this unique region.
The selected designer will develop all visual materials and exhibition collateral, including a full design identity, exhibition catalog, digital and print marketing assets, and exhibition graphics. Sierra Seven will provide high resolution, digital images of the art, artists biographies and artists statements, and interpretive/didactic text for the materials.
